Virtual/Item Bundle Updates

What’s New

You now have two ways to set up bundles in Borderless360. Until now, all bundles unpacked into their individual items when added to an order, and the bundle SKU appeared only as a reference. With the introduction of Item Bundles, you can choose whether a bundle should behave as a virtual product or as a real packaged item that is sold and shipped together.

Key Benefits

Greater flexibility

Choose how each bundle appears in orders and in your warehouse workflow.

More accurate fulfilment

Use Item Bundles when products are physically packed and shipped together to avoid confusion during picking.

Improved product setup

Create cleaner structures for gift sets, multipacks, and promotional bundles while still keeping visibility on the items inside.

Better support for warehouse operations

Match bundle behaviour to how the items are actually handled in your fulfilment process.

How It Works

You now have two bundle types:

Virtual Bundles

This behaves as before. The bundle unpacks into its individual items, and only those items appear for fulfilment. This is useful when the warehouse does not treat the items as one unit.

Item Bundles

The bundle product appears in the order along with the items inside it. This is useful when you sell or ship the bundle as a real packaged product, even if the components come from different places.

Ideal For

  • Gift sets and pre-packed products
  • Limited edition bundles
  • Multipacks sold as a single retail product
  • Virtual SKUs that convert into multiple physical items
  • Teams wanting clearer warehouse instructions or more transparency in order lines

How to Create a Virtual or Item Bundle

  1. Go to the Products page
  1. Under Product Details, select Go to Product
  1. Choose Mark as single item or Mark as virtual depending on the bundle type you want to use
