What Is a Manual Handling (B2B) Order?

A Manual Handling or B2B order (Business-to-Business order) is any order that requires special handling by our warehouse team, rather than being fulfilled automatically through standard courier services.

What Is a Manual Handling Order?

A Manual Handling Order isn’t just large — they involve manual packing, quoting, or special courier instructions.

  • 🏷️ Requires extra labels (usually requested by our picking teams)
  • 💵 Requires a custom shipping quote (usually requested by you)
  • Involves multiple boxes, pallets, or large/bulk shipping
  • Needs custom instructions or non-standard packaging

SLA: 1–3 Business Days

Manual Handling Orders are typically quoted and processed within 1–3 business days after the quote request is received. This includes:

  • Pre-packing by the warehouse
  • Measuring weights and dimensions
  • Preparing and sending your quote
 

💰 Costs to Expect

Once your quote is approved, we will:

  • Charge for pick and pack
  • Add any applicable freight costs
  • Apply a restocking fee if the order is cancelled after handling begins
  • Apply storage fees if stock is held too long without confirmation
 
⚠️

If the warehouse has already picked and packed your order and you choose not to go ahead, pick and pack + restocking fees will still apply.

✅ When Should I Use the Manual Handling / B2B Order Process?

Use the B2B order flow if your shipment meets any of the following:

Your order includes multiple boxes, pallets, or cartons
Your shipment is a single parcel within courier weight limits
You selected a B2B/manual courier
You selected a plug-and-play courier
You need a manual quote before shipping
You're using pre-approved flat rates

You're shipping a regular ecommerce order
You require custom labels, packaging, or instructions
You’re shipping a standard product without any special handling
 

🛠️ How It Works

🔁 You’d like a quote for an order

  1. Create your Draft order as normal in the app.
  1. Open a Quote Request ticket.
  1. Our team will ensure the order gets Picked and Packed.
  1. We send you a personalised quote.
  1. Once Approved, we generate labels and ship.
 

↪️ Borderless360 requires additional labels

  1. Our warehouse team picks and packs your order
  1. They email us requesting more labels due to size/volume
  1. We either generate additional labels with the same courier or provide a quote with another courier and send it to you
  1. Once approved, we generate the required labels
  1. The warehouse applies them and ships the order
 

📨 What If You Change Your Mind?

You can cancel your order before shipping — but:

  • If the warehouse has already packed your items, you’ll still be charged for pick and pack
  • A restocking fee will be applied if items must be returned to inventory

Please let us know as soon as possible if you do not want to proceed.

To avoid unnecessary fees, we recommend reaching out as soon as possible if you know you won’t be proceeding with a B2B shipment.


Creating a Draft Manual Handling Order

Creating a B2B order is simple and can be done directly from your dashboard. Follow these steps to get started:

Create the Order

  1. From the Orders Page, click the New Order shortcut button.
  1. Use the Order Products search bar to select products from your inventory.
  1. Add a Reference Number and any relevant Notes.
  1. For international shipping, include a Brief Description of the product, and select a Reason of Export and Terms of Trade from the drop-down menus.
  1. Enter the Receiver's Details. For orders shipping to China, upload photos of both the front and rear of the Chinese ID.
  1. Specify the Package dimensions and weight.
  1. Save the order.
 

Submit a Quote Request

  • Create a ticket for the order by selecting Quote Request from the dropdown menu.
  • Add any additional information about your shipment to help our team process the request quickly.
  • Hit Send to submit your ticket.
 
 

Wait for Confirmation

  • Once submitted, the Borderless360 Client Success Team will contact you with a quote and timeframe.
  • Be sure to provide as much detail about your shipment as possible to help expedite the process.
