UK Import Compliance Policy for ASNs

Comply with UK tax authority regulations

To comply with UK tax authority regulations, it is required that all foreign importers provide specific information for their imports. Adhering to these guidelines ensures the smooth and efficient processing of your shipments, avoiding potential delays to inbounding your stock.

Failure to submit the MRN and Country of Origin details may result in delays or refusal to inbound goods due to UK HMRC due diligence requirements.

By following these steps, you ensure smooth processing of your shipments. For further assistance, refer to our guide on Creating an Advance Shipping Notice (ASN) or contact our support team.

Required Information

Movement Reference Number (MRN): Found on your customs clearance documentation. The MRN is a unique number assigned to each shipment by customs authorities, crucial for tracking and compliance purposes.

Customs Declaration Document or Customs Declaration Service (CDS): The official document that lists and gives details of goods that are being imported. It will also show the MRN. A CDS is the UK government's electronic system for handling customs declaration processes.

Country of Origin: Declare the country where the goods were produced. This helps ensure proper duty and tax calculation.

Submission Process

For compliance reasons, submissions must be completed by you, and can only be done through the app.

MRN: After customs clearance, submit the MRN and the Customs Declaration via our ticketing system. Simply access the ASN in the app and open an Inbound Receiving Ticket.

Country of Origin: Enter this in the Notes box within the Additional Details section when creating your ASN.

Remember, it is your responsibility as the importer to comply with UK tax authority regulations. Providing the MRN and country of origin is a crucial part of this process. We appreciate your cooperation.
