What is Manifesting?

There are three stages to a complete order flow: Orders, Manifests, and Shipping.

A manifest is a consolidation of fulfilled orders during a given period, such as one day. When you commit manifests this generates a report, which is then sent to your courier(s) to inform them shipments are ready to be shipped.

Fulfilled orders enter the Manifests page, and depending on their state will be assigned one of the following four statuses:

Committing manifests

When you're ready to commit a manifest and make it ready for dispatch, here's what to do:

  1. From the Dashboard, choose Manifests from the sidebar.

  2. Select the order(s) using the radio buttons.

  3. Click Bulk Actions, then choose Commit Manifest. This will print shipping documents and make it ready for dispatch.

You cannot add new fulfilled orders to a committed manifest, although you can remove fulfilled orders by placing them On-Hold if needed.

Placing manifested orders On-Hold

There may be situations in which you need to remove fulfilled orders from a manifest. You can do this by putting them On-Hold. Here's what to do:

  1. From the Dashboard, choose Manifests from the sidebar.

  2. Click the Reference of the manifest containing the order you'd like to place On-Hold.

  3. In the Fulfillments section you will see a list of fulfilled orders. Click the Reference of the order you'd like to place On-Hold.

  4. Click Actions, then choose Put On Hold, finally click OK when prompted.

The order will be taken off the manifest and will be assigned 'Fulfilled' status.

Dispatching manifests

Once committed manifests have been dispatched with your courier(s), use the 'Dispatch' action to trigger updates to integrations. These updates contain information about the courier name(s), tracking number(s), and tracking URL(s). To do this:

  1. From the Dashboard, choose Manifests from the sidebar.

  2. Select the order(s) using the radio buttons.

  3. Click Bulk Actions, then choose Dispatch Manifest.

Exporting a manifest's shipping documents

You may wish to download a manifest's shipping documents (shipping labels, packing slips, and commercial invoices). Here's how:

  1. From the Dashboard, choose Manifests from the sidebar.

  2. Click the Reference of the manifest.

  3. Click Export.

  4. In the pop-up, choose an export type, ie spreadsheet (.csv), or document (.pdf).

  5. Click Export to download the document(s) to your computer.

Viewing Manifest Reports, and Summary Reports

Each manifest will have an associated Manifest Report, and Summary Report.

Manifest Reports contain a list of all orders in the manifest with detailed information, including Invoice Numbers, receiver's addresses, and values.

Summary Reports contain an overall summary of the total number and weight of orders. Summary Reports can be given to the courier drivers if you wish.

To view these reports:

  1. From the Dashboard, choose Manifests from the sidebar.

  2. You'll find the Manifest Report, and Summary Report represented by icons in the corresponding columns.

  3. You can click the icons to view the reports (opens as .csv, or .pdf in same window).

  4. You can then download each report individually if you wish.
